The Musical JR
Director / Choreographer Shannon Nichols
Music Director Katy Stafford
Stage Manager Emma Grace Denton
ABOUT THE SHOW
Beauty is in the eye of the ogre in Shrek The Musical JR, based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation feature film and fantastic Broadway musical. It’s a “big bright beautiful world” as everyone’s favorite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance. Part romance and part twisted fairy tale, Shrek JR is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family.
Once upon a time, in a far away swamp, there lived an ogre named Shrek. One day, Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits who have been cast off by Lord Farquaad, a tiny terror with big ambitions. When Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad, he’s handed a task — if he rescues feisty princess Fiona, his swamp will be righted. Shrek tries to win Fiona’s love and vanquish Lord Farquaad, but a fairytale wouldn’t be complete without a few twists and turns along the way.

LITTLE SHOP
of HORRORS
Director / Choreographer Shannon Nichols
Music Director Travis Falknor
Stage Manager Tracey Strother
ABOUT THE SHOW
A deviously-delicious Broadway and Hollywood sci-fi smash musical, Little Shop of Horrors has devoured the hearts of theatre goers for over 30 years. Howard Ashman and Alan Menken (Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Beauty And The Beast, and Aladdin) are the creative geniuses behind what has become one of the most popular shows in the world.
The meek floral assistant Seymour Krelborn stumbles across a new breed of plant he names “Audrey II” - after his coworker crush. This foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore promises unending fame and fortune to the down and out Krelborn as long as he keeps feeding it, BLOOD. Over time, though, Seymour discovers Audrey II’s out of this world origins and intent towards global domination!

SEUSSICAL JR
Director / Choreographer Shannon Nichols
Music Director Travis Falknor
Stage Manager Emma Grace Denton
ABOUT THE SHOW
Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in Seussical JR, a fantastical musical extravaganza from Tony-winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty.
Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat narrates the story of Horton the Elephant, who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos. Horton must protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, and he must also guard an abandoned egg that’s been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant.

DIRECTOR’S NOTE
Our production seeks to honor the raw, complicated truths at the heart of this story’s origins. We’ll explore a more devastating forensic and psychological landscape grounded in the sweaty labor of social survival in a digital age — the tension between the profiles we curate and the very real, sometimes messy, human needs beneath them. We’re looking for actors who are excited by intellectual friction, nuanced subtext, and a high-stakes, non-sentimental delivery. Our collaborative team of actors will dig deep. This production prioritizes character accountability and emotional precision. We seek the malaise behind the screen — the visceral human costs that drive choices when we feel most alone. The ache is the stake.
CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS
EVAN HANSEN — (HIGH TENOR) A highly observant, strategic young man navigating intense isolation. We are looking for a performer who can balance genuine vulnerability with the active, calculating intelligence required to maintain a complex social lie.
ZOE MURPHY — (MEZZO-SOPRANO) A character of clear-eyed strength. We seek a performer who can portray the ache of grief alongside a firm, unwavering boundary regarding the truth.
CONNOR MURPHY — (BARITENOR) An analog boy in a digital world. We seek a performer who can portray the finite volatility of the real Connor and the system-edited avatar created by the community’s collective projections.
LARRY MURPHY — (BARITONE) Pragmatic and disciplined. He values dramaturgical order and functional fronts to maintain family stability. We are looking for an actor who can portray the silent weight of a sysadmin trying to keep a collapsing home online.
HEIDI HANSEN — (MEZZO-SOPRANO) A performance team of one. We are seeking an actor who can portray the exhausted, authentic love of a parent navigating a world of infinite digital noise while trying to protect her finite home.
CYNTHIA MURPHY — (MEZZO-SOPRANO) A believing performer. She is a consumer of the new narrative, seeking a functional replacement for the son she lost.
JARED KLEINMAN — (TENOR) Quick-witted, pragmatic, and transactional. He sees the world through a logical, digital lens.
ALANA BECK — (MEZZO-SOPRANO) Deeply driven and legacy-minded. She seeks utility and impact in a world of infinite noise.
